Lead Counter & Market Associate

Ollie’s Market & Deli is a new neighborhood market and deli opening soon! We’re focused on quality food, thoughtful preparation, and an inviting customer experience. We’re building a small, professional team and are looking for experienced people who take pride in their work and appreciate the details.

We are seeking a full-time Lead Counter & Market Associate to take ownership of the customer-facing side of Ollie’s. You’ll be one of the primary faces of the business — providing great hospitality, taking and communicating orders, answering questions about our food and products, stocking the market, receiving deliveries, and keeping the space clean, organized, and welcoming.

We’re looking for someone who is confident, organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently. You should notice what needs to be done and take care of it without waiting to be asked.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet guests warmly and provide knowledgeable, professional service
• Take orders accurately and efficiently
• Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, products, and preparation
• Learn Ollie’s menu and retail offerings and communicate basic culinary terminology
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen regarding orders and special requests
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming counter and customer area
• Stock and organize retail shelves and displays
• Receive, inspect, organize, and put away deliveries
• Monitor inventory and communicate low-stock items
• Assist with opening and closing responsibilities
• Handle customer concerns professionally
• Maintain a strong sense of urgency during busy periods without sacrificing accuracy or hospitality
• Work closely with the kitchen and chef/owner to keep service running smoothly

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2+ years of serving experience required
• Strong hospitality and customer-service skills
• Comfortable in a fast-paced food-service environment
• Strong understanding of food and basic culinary terminology
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
• Professional, friendly, and confident demeanor
• Reliable and punctual
• High standards for cleanliness and organization
• Comfortable regularly lifting and carrying cases of product and remaining on your feet throughout the shift
• Familiarity with Toast is a plus!

SCHEDULE:
Closed Monday & Tuesday

• Wednesday–Friday: 11:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Saturday–Sunday: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM

Shifts include approximately 1–1.5 hours of pre-opening preparation and 30 minutes of post-close responsibilities. The owner will participate in opening and closing shifts as needed to help keep the position close to 40 hours per week.
