California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) is seeking an enthusiastic Analyst I to join our Retirement Benefit Services Division. Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the Analyst I is responsible for addressing service retirement inquiries, completing service retirement estimate requests, and calculating retirement benefits to ensure CalPERS retirees receive a timely and accurate benefit payment.

The Analyst I is responsible for:

• Researching, analyzing, and completing a full range of benefit related assignments
• Resolving outstanding eligibility requirements
• Working with stakeholders to obtain required information needed to process service retirement calculations
• Partnering with other CalPERS program areas to verify the accuracy of membership enrollment and compensation reporting

Effective July 1, 2025, The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee shall receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits, monthly. The salary range(s) included in the job advertisement do not reflect the 3 percent reduction in pay.

Statement of Qualifications

2. Describe your experience performing calculations and working with numerical data. Include the types of calculations you performed, the tools or systems you used, and the steps you took to ensure accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications

All experience and education relating to the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) listed on the Classification Specification should be included in your application package to clearly demonstrate how you meet the MQs for this position. If you are using education to meet MQs, please include your transcripts with your application package. If you have a degree from outside of the United States, you must submit an evaluation of this degree to determine the US equivalency. • Ability to appropriately apply current laws, rules, policies, and procedures
