Your day at the Claremont Fiber Plant

As a Claremont Fiber Electromechanical Maintenance Technician (TSA), you’ll start your 12-hour night shift on our 2-2-3 rotating schedule ready to keep high-speed manufacturing assets online. You’ll move from troubleshooting a motor control center to calibrating a computer control system with an HMI, then pivot to a preventive maintenance task on building equipment—always with safety first. When production calls, you diagnose issues across mechanical, electrical, and electronic domains and return systems to service with precision and urgency.

What you’ll take ownership of

• Set up, install, troubleshoot, repair, and test complex mechanical/electrical equipment and process controls, including motor control centers, computer control systems, and plant electrical components.
• Execute preventive maintenance on production machinery, building systems, and related components.
• Provide timely, cost-effective technical support aligned with short- and long-term operating plans.
• Maintain asset reliability, availability, capacity, and quality to meet internal customer needs.
• Serve as a Medical First Responder within the Fiber Plant.
• Participate in Prysmian’s pay-for-skill program and learn the equipment and practices unique to our manufacturing environment.
• Support the Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Manager on installation/repair procedures and inventory levels for critical parts.
• Request additional hand/power tools or electronic diagnostic equipment when needed.
• Consistently follow safe work practices and all company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Reporting line, schedule, and pay

• Reports to: Claremont Fiber Maintenance Manager
• Schedule: 12-hour Night Shift, 2-2-3 Rotating Shift (EOWEO)
• Pay range: $28–$30 per hour, based on experience

• High School diploma or GED
• Plus one of the following (or equivalent experience as determined by the Maintenance Manager):

Associate degree in

• Electrical Technology
• Electronics Technology
• Mechanical Technology

OR Military service (minimum 2 years) with training in

• Electrical Technology
• Electronics Technology
• Mechanical Technology

OR On-the-job training (minimum 3 years) in

• Industrial maintenance – electrical
• Industrial maintenance – electronics
• Industrial maintenance – mechanical
• Capable of performing low-to-high voltage electrical work, laying out and wiring complex circuits with large numbers of connections, troubleshooting and correcting faulty logic and control circuits, as well as carrying out installations, repairs and tests on virtually all production and plant equipment
• Capable of performing light-to-heavy mechanical work, general plumbing, general carpentry, floor and tile installation and repair.
• Proficient in the use of basic hand tools, power tools, volt / ohm / amp meters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical diagnostic equipment as may be necessary
• Possesses good mechanical/electrical/electronic aptitude
• Possesses a strong work ethic and is able to function effectively with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills
• Analytical technical problem solver
• SAP experience preferred
• Fiber manufacturing experience preferred

Physical demands

• Ability to lift, bend, and stoop as needed; stand for extended periods
• Ability to work at a laptop or PC workstation for extended periods
• Periodic standing, sitting, walking, and phone use

Work environment

Expect a fast-paced setting with multiple priorities and strict deadlines, supporting many internal teams in a dynamic environment.

• Work under varying conditions (dust, oil, grease, heat/humidity, fumes, noise, etc.).
• Wear required PPE in manufacturing areas (safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection as required).
• Occasional entry into walled containment areas and infrequent roof access; some tasks may occur in very hot or cold areas.
