Divisional Controller

Job Description We are looking for a Divisional Controller to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below. This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting leader to own the financial operations of a specific division, with the flexibility of a remote role for candidates based within 100 miles of Columbus, OH. Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations for the assigned division, including general ledger, close, and reporting
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of divisional financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Partner with divisional leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Analyze divisional financial performance and provide insights and recommendations to leadership
- Manage divisional audit requests and support the broader corporate audit process
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls within the division
- Manage and mentor divisional accounting staff
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy at the divisional level
- Collaborate with corporate finance/accounting teams to ensure consistency across the organization
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior leadership experience
- Prior experience in a divisional, multi-unit, or decentralized accounting environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote capacity while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships
- Must reside within 100 miles of Columbus, OH
