Production Supervisor
Location: Pleasant View, TN
Shift: 2nd
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations and ensure the safe, efficient, and timely production of high-quality products for our manufacturing client near the Pleasant View, TN area. This individual will be responsible for supervising production employees, driving continuous improvement initiatives, meeting production goals, and fostering a positive team environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with previous manufacturing supervision experience and a passion for developing people.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of hourly production employees.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Monitor daily production metrics and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
- Promote and enforce a strong culture of workplace safety and compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate staffing, training, and performance management for production team members.
- Troubleshoot production issues and work cross-functionally with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Planning to minimize downtime.
- Conduct shift meetings and communicate production goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate production records and prepare reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles or other operational excellence tools.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Experience managing production schedules and meeting production goals.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and workplace safety practices.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or manufacturing systems is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
