ASSURE Patient Specialist - Columbia, Missouri (1099 Contractor, Per Diem/On Call)

Location: Columbia, Missouri Kestra Medical Technologies, Inc. develops advanced wearable cardiac devices that blend proven therapy with modern technology to improve patient care. The ASSURE Patient Specialist (APS) is a paid‑per‑fitting position that supports the sales organization by fitting and training patients with wearable defibrillators. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Fit and train local patients with a wearable defibrillator under corporate training assignments. Provide patient instruction, address questions and build confidence in device use. Contact prescribers, caregivers and patients to schedule fitting appointments. Perform fittings during daytime, evening and weekend hours as assigned. Travel to hospitals, patients’ homes and other healthcare facilities to provide fitting services. Measure patients to determine correct garment size. Review and submit required paperwork to receive the Assure® garment and services. Maintain inventory of Assure® system kits, garments and electronic equipment used in fittings. Maintain flexibility in work schedule while receiving competitive pay. Adhere to the Pledge of Confidentiality regarding patient information. REQUIREMENTS Minimum 1 year of paid patient‑care experience (not as a family caregiver). Clinical or engineering background such as nurses, cardiac device sales, clinical engineers, cath lab technicians, physician assistants, or ECG technicians. Disclosure of personal NPI number (if applicable). Completion of a background check; Florida and Ohio candidates must complete a level 2 screening paid by Kestra. willingness to pay an annual DME fee, deducted from the completed work order. Ability to pay for vendor credentialing upfront during a 90‑day probationary period. Experience in patient or clinician education. Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a good driving record. Ability to consistently work in the field in and around Brownsville, TX (disclosure of any relationships or referral sources required). Achievement of credentialing for hospital system entry, including: Documentation of vaccination and immunization status. Passage of a background check. Passage of drug screening testing. Review and acceptance of hospital policies and procedures. Completion of online courses (HIPAA, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical/Fire Safety). PREFERRED Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Teams. Direct cardiac patient‑care experience (RT, CVIS, Paramedic, CRM). WORK ENVIRONMENT Minimal noise typical of office or hospital settings. Potential exposure to infectious disease in hospital and clinic environments. Extended hours when needed. Drug‑free environment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Travel by car. Frequent repetitive movements of wrists, hands and fingers (e.g., keyboard, mouse). Extended periods standing or sitting. Frequent use of phone and other business machines. Occasional bending and stooping. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted from or out of a vehicle. TRAVEL Frequent travel by car within the agreed geography.
