Position Facility Maint Supervisor - Journey (South Maintenance Supervisor) Location Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Pay Range $55,448 - $78,158 annually Position Summary The project manager is responsible for overall management of assigned projects, including review, organization, planning, and execution of construction and maintenance/repair work for the zone shop. The role supervises shop employees, coordinates with multidisciplinary teams, conducts pre‑construction conferences, manages contract administration, ensures project costs remain within budget, and performs final inspections with customers. Responsibilities Manage assigned projects from initiation to completion, including purchasing materials and ensuring on‑schedule delivery. Supervise shop employees and coordinate with other facilities services shops and housing support. Conduct pre‑construction conferences and final inspections with customers. Ensure cost control, client communication, and adherence to safety standards. Make on‑the‑job decisions regarding scope changes or differences. Maintain safety training records, inspect tools, ladders, and work conditions. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High‑school diploma or equivalency plus two years of experience in assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Management Preferences Experience successfully managing multidisciplinary teams in a related field. Experience in facility operations. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite programs. Knowledge of general building maintenance, electrical, and plumbing, including troubleshooting and repairs. Excellent teamwork and communication skills with co‑workers and housing staff. Required Licenses/Certifications A valid North Carolina Driver’s License is required, or the ability to obtain one prior to hire. Special Physical/Mental Requirements Stand for extended periods, navigate stairs and climb ladders. Work in small tight spaces; bend, stoop and crawl to complete tasks. Move objects up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Operate under stressful conditions and critical timelines. Use small hand tools regularly. Serve as a mandatory employee and report to work during essential operations, including adverse weather or public health emergencies. Schedule Requirements Occasional evening, night, on‑call, overtime, and weekend work. Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required.
