Restaurant Assistant Manager
Location: Tinton Falls, NJ
We are seeking an energetic and hands-on Restaurant Assistant Manager to join the leadership team of a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant in Tinton Falls, NJ. The ideal candidate is a motivated hospitality professional who enjoys working with people, leading a team, and ensuring an outstanding guest experience in a quick-service environment.
The Assistant Manager will work closely with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, support team development, maintain operational standards, and help drive sales, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager with the daily operation of the restaurant.
- Lead and supervise team members during assigned shifts.
- Ensure exceptional guest service and a positive customer experience.
- Maintain high standards for food quality, speed of service, cleanliness, and restaurant presentation.
- Act as Manager on Duty and take ownership of the restaurant during assigned shifts.
- Train, coach, and develop team members to improve performance and productivity.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and employee retention.
- Manage shift deployment, breaks, and team productivity.
- Assist with scheduling and labor management.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, waste, and inventory.
- Follow cash-handling, opening, closing, and security procedures.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily goals and expectations.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve issues quickly.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and company standards.
- Support promotions, local marketing initiatives, and sales-building programs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming restaurant throughout every shift.
- Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to ensure efficient operations.
- Assist the General Manager with achieving sales, labor, food cost, and profitability goals.
- Lead by example and help create a positive, energetic team culture.
Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of restaurant management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Quick-service, fast-casual, or high-volume restaurant experience strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working hands-on alongside the team.
- Reliable, accountable, and able to make sound decisions independently.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
