Environmental Advocate & Fundraiser Partnering with the Sierra Club

For more than 130 years, Sierra Club has worked to promote clean energy, safeguard community health, protect wildlife, and preserve wild places through grassroots activism, public education, lobbying, and legal action. As an Environmental Advocate, you’ll be the trusted voice in your community — engaging the public, answering questions, and inspiring support for the fights that protect land, air, water, and climate. Your Role as a Face-to-Face Fundraiser You’ll help grow a community of monthly supporters whose gifts power Sierra Club campaigns. Through personal conversations on busy streets, at events, retail locations, and in neighborhoods, you’ll highlight urgent issues and show how everyone can take action. Face-to-face fundraising allows real-time engagement, builds understanding, and drives meaningful, lasting progress. What We Offer Competitive base pay ($20–$25/hour depending on market) + uncapped bonus opportunities Full-time positions available. Part-time is available only if you can complete the first two weeks of training full-time, then work a part-time schedule that includes Saturdays and Sundays Comprehensive training, professional development, and career growth opportunities Supportive team environment with benefits (including counseling, legal/financial services, and insurance after 90 days in qualifying roles) Year-round work — not seasonal — making a real difference every day Key Responsibilities Engage the public with passion and professionalism while representing Threshold Giving and the Sierra Club Share impactful stories and campaigns to recruit new monthly supporters Meet goals while maintaining accurate records and a positive presence Qualifications Genuine passion for environmental protection and creating positive change Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable working outdoors and interacting with the public daily Reliable and self-motivated; prior sales/fundraising experience is a plus but not required Ability to complete two weeks of full-time training; weekend availability required for part-time schedules Locations Opportunities in Denver, CO; Seattle, WA; Tampa / St. Petersburg, FL; and other markets.
