CNC Operator

CNC Operator NESCO Resource is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Machine Operator to join a multi-department manufacturing operation in Farmington, NY. This role supports production across Mills, Lathes, Sheet Metal, and Cut-Off departments and is responsible for setting up and operating machine tools to fabricate metallic and non-metallic workpieces in accordance with production requirements and quality standards. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working with industrial machinery in a structured manufacturing environment. Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Pay Rate: $20.00 (+) An Hour (Based On Exp.) Key Responsibilities Set up and operate production equipment including lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders. Produce assigned products in accordance with verbal and written work instructions. Inspect parts and document findings on appropriate production and quality paperwork. Record time, quantities, and material usage for each job. Select appropriate speeds, feeds, and tooling based on materials, tolerances, and job requirements. Work to close tolerances using reference manuals and setup documentation. Perform machine maintenance and minor repairs using standard hand tools. Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas, returning tools to designated storage locations. Notify management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and safety concerns. Report problems or process deviations to the immediate supervisor. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 1–2 years of related machine operation experience and/or training; equivalent combinations of education and experience considered. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write basic reports and production documentation. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability. Proficient in basic math including fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages. Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and company policies. Physical Demands Frequent standing, use of hands, and reaching throughout the shift. Regular lifting and moving of materials up to 40 lbs. Occasional walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Required visual acuity including close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Exposure to wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration. Loud production environment; PPE required on production floor at all times.
