Economist for AI Training

Apply advanced economics expertise to create high-quality, well-justified content that trains and evaluates next-generation AI systems. This contractor role focuses on producing authoritative responses, validating economics material, and documenting reasoning so models learn accurate economic concepts and methods. No prior AI experience is required, domain knowledge and clear communication are the priorities.

• Produce precise, comprehensive, and clearly written responses to advanced economics prompts, emphasizing depth, clarity, and educational value.
• Review and validate economics data, queries, and proposed solutions for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with current methodologies.
• Develop robust explanations and justifications across a range of topics, from foundational principles to specialized subfields.
• Create high-quality "golden responses" that serve as benchmarks for model training.
• Document the context and rationale behind each response to support model interpretability and downstream annotation work.
• Collaborate remotely with annotation leads and project managers to refine requirements and ensure deliverables meet project standards.
• Participate in remote discussions and workshops to align on strategic objectives and maintain consistency across contributors.

• PhD in Economics or a closely related field, demonstrating subject-matter expertise.
• Strong command of microeconomics and macroeconomics, with attention to detail and methodological rigor.
• Exceptional ability to communicate complex economics concepts clearly and precisely, in writing and verbally.
• Experience producing, reviewing, or publishing scientific, technical, or educational economics materials, such as peer-reviewed articles, research reports, or curricula.
• Familiarity with multiple economics sub-disciplines, for example econometrics, behavioral economics, labor economics, or international economics, and the ability to tailor explanations for different audiences.
• Collaborative experience in remote or cross-functional teams is preferred.
• Background in AI, data annotation, or digital content projects is advantageous but not required.

• Compensation is output-based, experts are paid per task that meets project specifications.
• The time required to complete tasks varies by expert and task complexity.
• Minimum submission requirements apply; experts must submit a minimum number of tasks per week.
• Roles are typically filled quickly, often within 48 hours, and selected experts are expected to begin their first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing onboarding.

• Pay range: $80 to $90 per hour.
• Payment is tied to task completion and conformance with project specifications rather than strictly to billed hours.

• Candidates must hold a PhD in Economics or a closely related field.
• Remote work capability is required, including reliable internet and ability to participate in remote workshops and discussions.
• No prior AI experience is required; domain expertise and clear communication are the key selection factors.
