Our Vascular Access Team is a team of highly skilled board-certified registered nurses who are specially trained in vascular access insertion and management. Vascular Access Team nurses may hold the Vascular Access-Board Certified (VA-BC) or the Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) credentials — ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes. 

The IV Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for patients in accordance with established Nursing Standards of Care. They demonstrate initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. The RN demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of nursing care and directly reports to a designated nurse manager and/or clinical manager / off shift manager. The IV RN must exhibit excellent customer relations skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Applicants should possess excellent communication, assessment, documentation and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize as well as a commitment to work with a culturally diverse population. Strong problem solving skills. IV Therapy RN must be able to insert and maintain all peripheral IVs. Must draw blood from TLC's. Must also be able to maintain central access & ports. Will respond to all code blues and rapid responses. Will perform daily rounds of patients with IV lines. 

Qualifications/Experience: 

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current MA RN Licensure 

BSN preferred 

Current AHA BLS & ACLS certifications required 

Critical care experience 

Must have at least 3 years of recent nursing experience that includes, but is not limited to direct patient care, physical assessment and patient education 

MIDLINE/ PICC Line, USG IV Competency Required

Must be proficient in Peripheral IV insertion

Central line maintenance and management required 

IV Team experience preferred 

Certification in IV Therapy (CRNI) preferred
