Requirements

• Current RN license in state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• At least two years recent experience in field.
• EPIC experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care, including triage, treatment, and discharge care for Emergency Department patients.
• Completes accurate triage assessment and notifies the Emergency MD of all abnormal signs, symptoms, and vital signs.
• Provides medication side effects teaching to all patients receiving medication and includes this teaching in discharge instructions.
• Recognizes symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress and other emergencies.
• Demonstrates competency in routine nursing skills and follows chain of command per policy.
• Accurately interprets ECG rhythm and manages care during life-threatening emergencies.
