Billing Specialist

A friendly and established Washington, DC law firm is seeking a proactive, highly organized, eager-to-learn, legal professional to join their growing team. As the Billing Specialist, you will play a pivotal role providing full-cycle billing support to a busy legal practice while collaborating closely with attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders. If you are someone who has exceptional communication skills, enjoys detailed, process-oriented projects, and is looking for an environment that promotes growth, Key Responsibilities: Maintain thorough knowledge of client guidelines and firm policies to ensure all time entries are compliant with relevant rules and regulations. Provide full-cycle billing support through electronic billing and regular monthly invoices. Assist with drafting, reviewing, and revising various documentation including monthly fee statements, interim fee applications, client budgets, and billing records/reports. Ensure accuracy and timely billing, responding promptly to incoming requests and inquiries. Maintain organization and accessibility of billing records. You have strong familiarity with the entire legal billing cycle and have previously worked with billing and accounting software systems including Serengeti, CounselLink and LEDES file formats. Prior paralegal or legal secretary experience is preferred. Communication is key. You have excellent communication skills and work well both independently and as part of a team. Maintaining clear and efficient communication internally and externally is essential to success in this role. Deadline-driven, detail-driven. You have an eye for accuracy and thrive in a deadline-centered environment. No details go unnoticed and no deadlines fall through. Time-aware. You are well organized and prioritize work seamlessly, adapting without issue as needed. The salary listed reflects the anticipated compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, location, business considerations, and internal equity.
