Food Service Worker

The food service worker supports daily food production operations in a fast-paced commissary kitchen serving local school districts. The position is responsible for preparing ingredients, assembling food items, packaging meals, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, energetic, and able to work efficiently as part of a team to meet daily production goals. This position follows the school calendar and starts in August. Monday- Friday 6am-2pm. Essential duties and responsibilities include preparing fruits, vegetables, sandwiches, salads, and other menu items according to standardized recipes and production schedules. The worker must wash, cut, portion, and package food products for distribution to schools. They assist with meal assembly and packaging to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met. Food products are labeled, dated, and stored following food safety guidelines. The worker operates kitchen equipment including slicers, ovens, scales, and packaging equipment. Clean and organized workstations are maintained throughout the shift. HAACP procedures are followed and food temperatures are documented as required. Deliveries are received and inventory is stocked using FIFO procedures. Cooks and production staff are supported with food preparation and other duties as assigned. The worker must work efficiently to meet production deadlines in a high-volume environment and adhere to all company, local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications include previous food service, restaurant, cafeteria, or commissary experience preferred but not required. The worker must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively in a team environment. Reliable attendance and punctuality are required. Serve Safe Certified or the ability to obtain certification upon hire is necessary. The worker must pass a federal background check. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements are required. The worker must be able to work in a loud, fast paced kitchen environment.
