Job Details Job Location: River House - Portland, OR 97214 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $68,250.00 - $78,750.00 Salary/year Job Shift: Day Title: Peer Support Specialist Supervisor Location: River House - 211 SE Caruthers Portland, OR 97214 Schedule: This is an In-person position, Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm Wage Range: $68,250.00 - $78,750.00 Exempt, Salary Position Overview The Permanent Supportive Housing Peer Supervisor oversees the implementation and day to day operations of Peer Support services that are part of Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) services funded by the HUD PSH Continuum of Care program for adults and families experiencing unsheltered homelessness, most of whom have a disabling condition and a history of homelessness. This position provides supervision and oversight for Peer Support Specialists providing housing placement and long-term housing retention services in the community. The position is responsible for extensive collaboration with multiple NARA NW programs and partner agencies to ensure effective services and compliance with all grants and contracts. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring all PSH services incorporate an Integrated Care approach that focuses on cultural, physical, and emotional well-being. Approaches utilized by NARA NW’s PSH programs include Assertive Engagement and Housing First principles. The Peer Supervisor works cooperatively with other program supervisors and managers to ensure consistent quality of services. What you will do Provide administrative oversight and supervision for Peer Support Specialists (PSS) assisting with housing placement and long-term housing retention services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, with a focus on providing culturally specific services for Native Americans. Accompany PSS staff in the field as needed to support staff and housing participants. Ensure Housing First, Trauma-Informed Care, and Assertive Engagement principles are utilized in the delivery of services. Ensure compliance with grant and contract requirements, including reports and service documentation; conduct regular reviews of paper charts and electronic records; collaborate with the Housing Operations Supervisor to ensure timely and thorough data collection, and assist with regular reports as needed. Ensure appropriate service data is maintained within multiple database systems, including Centricity, RPMS and HMIS. Manage client assistance funds; review fund requests for approvals to ensure appropriate use of funds, and track spending of program funds. Collaborate extensively with community partners, property managers and other NARA NW programs to ensure positive relationships and access to resources for NARA NW clients. Work with the community to enlist support and feedback for the program. Provide consultation to PSS staff working with persons experiencing behavioral health crises; provide crisis assessment, management, and intervention as needed, in collaboration with the Program Manager. Qualifications PSS or QMHA I and five years’ relevant paid in the field of behavioral health care and/or homeless services experience is required. Either High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certification required. Two years in paid supervisory capacity desirable. Knowledge and experience in providing Permanent Supportive Housing; understanding of Coordinated Entry systems. Extensive knowledge of issues facing homeless adults and families and the impact of transitioning from homelessness to housing. Ability to exercise independent judgment and leadership abilities, including ability to make sound decisions. Ability to train, coach, and mentor in a field-based environment. Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community is considered a plus. Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients, the community, and other staff members. Ability to pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests. Ability to pass criminal background and DMV checks. Must have access to reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, acceptable driving record, and ability to meet NARA Northwest's driving requirements, including insurability under the organization's automobile insurance policy.
