Welder - 2nd Shift

Job TitleDuties and Responsibilities:Check with department supervisor on machine assignment and job assignment.Discuss with current welder from preceding shift about the machine's performance and any possible difficulties encountered during the course of the shift.Set-up welding equipment in accordance with specified set-up procedures and within acceptable set-up requirements.Fabricate welding jigs when necessary.Create inspection checklist for first-time jobs.Conduct and document a first-piece inspection and obtain approval from Quality Control before proceeding.Perform adjustments on machines and/or programs as needed, based upon results of first-piece inspections.Weld parts, manually or robotically, according to specifications and within acceptable production requirements.Unload and package parts according to EIMCo standards and customer requirements.Complete accurate daily records (date, times, quantities of parts ran, and scrap) for every job worked on, on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.Follow instructions from all EIMCo documentation, including: Shop Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.Inform quality control, shift supervisor/ lead person of any problems or concerns with parts.Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections in accordance with the EIMCo Quality Manual.Perform required preventive maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead immediately.Maintain assigned work area in a clean and orderly manner and comply with all 5S procedures.Conduct all tasks and behaviors in a safe manner and comply with all EIMCO Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, as outlined in the EIMCo Safety Manual.Maintain all required documentation.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:General skills with hand and power toolsExperience working in a fast-paced environmentProblem-solving skillsThe ability to multitask on a wide variety of projectsHere's what we can offer:Medical, Dental, and Vision after 60 days of employmentCompetitive Wellness Program, providing up to 100% discount on medical premiumsShort-Term and Long-Term DisabilitySupplemental Accident Insurance through Allstate for additional coverage on accidents + cancerEmployer-Paid Life Insurance401(k) after 60 days of employment + competitive match after one yearPaid Time Off starting after 90 days of employmentPaid Holidays starting day one!Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending AccountGreat discount programs in automotive, technology, and moreEducation Assistance is available for job related courses to further your education, with up to 100% paid tuition for maintenance-related coursework and certificationsCareer Advancement OpportunitiesTeammate Assistance Program (TAP) which offers professional assistance for Counseling, Financial, Legal, and Family servicesPhysical Requirements:Ability to routinely bend and squatAbility to routinely climb stairs, ladders, and platformsAbility to walk and stand for prolonged periods of timeAbility to repetitively graspAbility to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 poundsReasonable accommodations may be made to those who are able to perform the essential duties of the job.Education and Experience:Mechanical skills background required. One to two years of welding experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred, but not required. Formal education or experience may be substituted with training when competency in the position is demonstrated.Working Conditions:This is a safety sensitive position. This work is performed in a manufacturing setting with moderate to high levels of noise due to machinery and equipment processes. The temperature of the facility will vary based on the outside weather conditions.
