Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified individual to competently perform routine and specialized sonography procedures of moderate complexity. This role requires producing quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute developed clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures while exercising sound judgment.
• Provide accurate results in a timely manner.
• Gain confidence and cooperation from patients and their families through effective communication and attentive monitoring.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety.
• Perform specific procedures and orient other staff members as needed.

Work Schedule

Wednesday to Sunday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or possession of ARDMS certification for completion of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Certifications:
  
  
  • ARDMS - American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (upon hire)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (upon hire)
  • Must possess two of the following certifications upon hire:
    
    
    • AB - Abdomen
    • BR - Breast
    • FE - Fetal Echocardiography
    • OB/GYN - Obstetrics & Gynecology
    • PS - Pediatric Sonography
    • RVT - Registered Vascular Technician
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent relevant experience in sonography.

Skills and Knowledge

• Intermediate understanding of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, and equipment.
• Ability to respond to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
• Proficient in conducting sonographic examinations with strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including prioritization of assignments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and relevant information systems (RIS, LIS, EHR, EPIC, PACS).
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
• Commitment to ensuring the privacy of patient protected health information (PHI).
• Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard issues by selecting appropriate solutions.
