Project Coordinator (Job Number 26000668) Department of Psychology, Durham University Salary : Grade 5 – £13,659.50 – £15,189 per annum (pro rata to £27,319 – £30,378 full-time) Contract Type : Fixed Term – Part Time (2.5 days per week, 50% FTE) Contract Duration : 12 months, with possibility of extension until January 2028 Closing Date : 08 Jul 2026 Disclosure : DBS required (details at Role Overview Co-ordinate the research project “Learning to Innovate: Development and Diversity” led by Dr Bruce Rawlings (Durham University) and prof. Cristine Legare (University of Texas at Austin). This project explores how educational experiences influence children’s innovation across eight countries. Key Responsibilities Recruit participants, schedule experimental sessions and manage contact lists. Organise and coordinate data collection, including training of students and research assistants. Maintain and update digital records and databases (SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams). Prepare reports and summaries for senior staff and collaborators. Coordinate procurement and distribution of study materials. Support international collaborators and liaise with external stakeholders. Assist in organising meetings and team events. Help maintain compliance with regulatory and professional standards. Qualifications and Experience Five GCSEs (incl. English Language & Mathematics) at grade C/level 4 or equivalent. Experience in a busy office environment delivering front‑line administrative services. Time‑management skills to meet deadlines under pressure. Electronic management of data and paperwork. Experience providing advice and guidance to customers/colleagues. Experience supervising a team. Skills & Knowledge Excellent spoken and written communication skills. Strong digital competence (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Trello). Problem‑solving and decision‑making ability. Commitment to professional development. Knowledge of working with children, families and international collaborators. Undergraduate degree in psychology, anthropology, education or related field.
