Student Services Coordinator

Department Specific Responsibilities Maintains student tracking tables (degree track, clinical compliance, admission, contact, and graduation). Responsible to provide office and secretarial support for all nursing programs and tracks, including the assistant dean, program directors, and all full-time School of Nursing and Allied Health Professionals (SNAHP) faculty and adjunct SNAHP faculty. Tracks applicant data and provides students and program leaders with accurate, timely information throughout the application and admission process, ensuring every applicant is informed well and timely. Ensures students have met clinical requirements. Creates and assists in uploading content for the Student Portal Canvas site. Processes admission applications and prepares materials for selection committee meetings in collaboration with program directors and nursing administrative assistant. Creates or assists with upload of general content (announcements, clinical information, handbooks, modules, etc.) for student centers in Canvas for all 3 disciplines. Provides administrative support to a department or group of professionals, exercising confidentiality, tact and diplomacy. Assists with nursing ceremonies, award presentations and events as directed. Utilizes business software applications to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc., compiles data for expense, accreditation, and statistical reports. Receives, screens, and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail, and email promptly, courteously, and accurately. Works directly with all nursing students for compliance tracking purposes. Provides information, secures space reservations, schedules planning meetings, and provides necessary documentation for program leaders, faculty, and students. If directed, assists with gathering information for website and social media for approval. When needed, provides program related information to students and general resource navigation to students (Indiana University Kokomo (IUK) resources). General Responsibilities Assists with administrative needs related to the daily operations, planning, and implementation of various or multiple student services initiatives. Performs duties such as attending a front desk, answering phones and email, and delivering messages and mail. Serves as a liaison to campus partners for cross-departmental student services initiatives, providing information, securing space reservations, scheduling planning meetings, and providing necessary documentation. Provides assistance to student participants, stakeholders, faculty, and/or staff; acts as a resource by analyzing information, providing documentation, and preparing reports. Accurately maintains electronic records and databases. Provides directions, support, and information to student organization representatives and other visitors to the department. Assists with daily scheduling, training, and gathering of student feedback. May prepare and disseminate handouts, presentations, or other materials. May assist with ordering or creation of promotional materials for student organizations or departmental needs. May provide guidance to other Student Services Coordinators. Qualifications Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

EDUCATION

Required High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED). Preferred Associate degree in Applied Science (AAS) in Business Administration, Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS).

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required 2 years of in office environment, higher education, or related field.

Working Conditions / Demands This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
