Key Requirements: At least seven years of experience in privacy law (experience in a top-tier law firm and in-house legal department preferred) and in good standing with a state Bar. CIPP/E and CIPP/US – Advantage. Must have expertise in data protection laws and practices including an in-depth understanding of the GDPR and CCPA/CPRA, and their technological applications in the Hi-Tech and cyber security industries. Must have strong project management skills and be able to handle multiple projects at a time. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and be able to research legal issues effectively. Ability to appreciate the business side of an operation, as well as the legal and balance appropriately. Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. Fluent in English. Responsibilities: Handle regulatory compliance with regard to data privacy matters. Provide specialized advice on legal and regulatory privacy and data compliance requirements. Review technological and commercial materials and create practices in the company to ensure that they are in compliance with data privacy legal requirements. Draft new and amend existing internal data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures, in consultation with key stakeholders. Drafting, negotiating, reviewing and executing DPAs and data privacy provisions on behalf of Varonis. Proactively conduct audits to ensure compliance and address potential issues. Devise training plans and provide data protection advice and support to employees at the company. Assisting the Legal Department on special projects, as needed.
