What You'll Be Doing: Instructional Delivery Team teach with a grade level partner following the Team-Based building model shared by administration. Teaches in both an independent homeroom and a shared instructional space, rotating between leading instruction in their own classroom and co-teaching within the shared environment to ensure consistent learning experiences for all students on the team roster. Implements coordinated instructional delivery using co-teaching models such as parallel teaching, station teaching, and team teaching to maximize student engagement and differentiation. Engage in co-planning lessons with your partner to meet state and district standards ensuring all students are actively engaged in learning. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and technology tools to accommodate diverse learning styles. Continuously assess student understanding and adjust teaching methods to improve outcomes to develop dynamic student groupings. Collaborate with instructional coaches, department chairs, and fellow teachers to enhance curriculum alignment and instructional practices. Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring Meet regularly to assess and analyze student performance through formative and summative assessments to great dynamic groupings. Maintain accurate and comprehensive student records, including grades, attendance, and progress reports. Use data to drive instructional decisions and provide targeted interventions through the PLC and/or MTSS teams. Classroom Management and Student Engagement Collaborate with their grade-level partner to co-manage a shared student roster, ensuring both teachers maintain full responsibility for academic progress, behavioral expectations, and overall student success. Establish a positive and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel respected and motivated to succeed. Manage, supervise and ensure the safety, behavior, and well-being of students. Implement effective classroom management strategies to minimize disruptions and maximize learning time. Foster students' social-emotional development by integrating trauma-informed practices and restorative justice approaches. Collaborate with parents, guardians, and necessary stakeholders to address behavior concerns and support student growth. Professional Development and School Collaboration Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve your craft and stay up to date on educational best practices. Contribute to schoolwide initiatives and collaborate with school staff on projects that support student achievement. Attend faculty meetings, workshops, family engagement events and parent-teacher conferences as required. Serve on school committees and contribute to creating a positive school climate. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field Valid Missouri teaching certificate or eligibility for certification Strong understanding of curriculum, instructional strategies, and classroom management Experience with or commitment to working in diverse, urban school environments Preferred Qualifications: Proven ability to differentiate instruction for students with diverse needs Ability to use technology to enhance student learning and engagement Experience with curriculum development and designing innovative lessons Demonstrated ability to mentor students and foster a growth mindset Collaborative approach to working with colleagues, administrators, and community members Experience with leadership roles in schools, such as department lead or instructional coach Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development Willingness to embrace feedback and adapt to new teaching methodologies Eagerness to be a part of a transformative school district that values continuous improvement Terms of Employment: Length of work year: 10‑month school-year calendar; in‑person 8 hrs/day, five days/week Health and dental insurance provided KCPS Defined Benefit Pension plan – mandatory 9.0 % contribution required from employees and matched by KCPS Why Join Kansas City Public Schools?
