Blackstone Credit & Insurance, ABF Associate

Primary Responsibilities Perform due diligence on prospective investments within the credit space, with a focus on transportation, including meeting with potential originators, deep dives on the business, industry/strategy research, financial modeling, and drafting investment materials. Work with other members of the Investment Team to diligence and underwrite investment opportunities, leveraging Blackstone’s various groups where appropriate. Build comprehensive financial models and evaluate various cases and types of deal structures. Engage with rating agencies and assist in ratings processes. Draft and present memorandums for investment committees. Monitor existing investments by tracking KPIs and continuously challenging the validity of the investment thesis. Think creatively about ways to improve the team’s existing processes. Qualifications Highly motivated and demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Desire to work in a team environment, often under competing deadlines. Strong financial modeling skills with past experience modeling and evaluating transactions. Excellent technical proficiency in Excel/VBA. Prior experience preparing presentation materials using PowerPoint. Strong communication skills. Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn. 2+ years of relevant work experience at an investment bank (ABS/Structured Finance, Leveraged Finance, transportation coverage), consulting firm, sell‑side structuring or trading desk, or a hedge fund. Past Structured Transportation experience is helpful but not required. Compensation and Benefits Expected annual base salary range: $120,000 - $160,000. Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
