Restoration & Sustainability Associate

Summary Job Description Covenant Day School’s Restoration and Sustainability Associate serves as a specialist who partners closely with the Restoration and Sustainability Director to advance creative and innovative service-minded projects at CDS in support of the school’s mission and values. The associate’s work is critical in supporting efforts focused on connecting faith and learning in Christ with prayer through strategic intersections of disciplines, service opportunities, entrepreneurial approaches, and science and technology opportunities as they come to light by the grace of God. This position serves as an administrative and practical liaison across the campus to support coordinated mission and efforts for restoration and sustainability work from TK-12 and connects with faculty, administrative staff students, parents and our community partners. The associate reports to the Restoration & Sustainability Director, and the role is full-time, exempt (salaried) and serves during the approximately 10-month school year. Occasional evenings, weekends and travel when students are off to support R&S initiatives will be part of the role. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Assist Restoration & Sustainability Director with daily activities related to the execution, administration and logistics of programming in lower, middle and high schools Contribute to the overall vision, research, planning and implementation of current and future R&S initiatives; serve as a project manager for various initiatives Acts as a point of contact for ongoing and daily needs for the department Provides guidance and support to faculty, staff and students to meet R&S needs Manage department budgets, supply ordering, check requests, etc. in partnership with business office processes for R&S faculty and staff across campus Promote ideas to the director for evaluation and enhancement of R&S initiatives Travel with student teams globally and locally to serve with R&S projects and initiatives; serve as a student chaperone and logistical lead for trips Maintain trip administrative databases and manage trip planning details (hotels, passports, visas, travel insurance, parent and student communications, etc.) Serve in R&S classes, teaching topics, supporting projects, mentoring students, etc. alongside R&S faculty members Support and participate in R&S co-curricular activities such as annual Clay Shoot event; serve as the functional leader of certain ongoing initiatives such as Common Grounds Coffee Shop Build and maintain positive appropriate relationships with students to mentor, teach, support and be a positive Christian witness to them Partner with R&S Director on exploration and execution of new high school winter term program Participate in and support local and other country service opportunities; build relationships with community and ministry partners locally and globally; maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with Covenant Day faculty and administrative departments Support risk management processes, documentation and policies for travel, initiatives and projects managed by R&S Other projects and responsibilities as assigned by the R&S Director or Associate Head of School Qualifications Committed follower of Jesus Christ, reflecting a desire to serve Him and others in work and life Eager to serve in a Christian learning environment, modeling diligence, perseverance, resilience, patience, courage, and Christian discipleship Strong aptitude towards organization, systems thinking, and implementation of ideas Willingness to step into any circumstance that arises in the accomplishment of R&S objectives; be open to ongoing learning and growth; have a teachable spirit Willing to work directly with students in a mentorship capacity, exemplifying a Christ-like attitude Bachelor’s degree required; teaching experience preferred An understanding of serving and teaching with biblical worldview and integration Effective problem solving and analytical ability Adept at partnering and collaborating in a team environment with a flexible mindset Positive attitude and a genuine love for and ability to connect with school aged youth Able to represent the school well to others and our community Demonstrated ability to serve with initiative and proactive approaches Strong organizational, administrative and computer skills including MS Office, Google Classroom and databases; project and risk management capabilities and mindset Able to lift/move up to forty pounds when needed #J-18808-Ljbffr Covenant Day School Inc
