Global Underwriting Manager - LiabilityAXA XL underwrites casualty insurance coverage to companies of all sizes. The Global Underwriting Manager will be part of Global Casualty Underwriting office providing AXA XL the ability to deploy Global Product Strategy and associated frameworks and controls. As client's' casualty exposures become more sophisticated, new emerging risks present and inflationary legal trends persist, the role of the Global Casualty Underwriting Manager will be critical to driving underwriting excellence across our casualty products and supporting the development of tailored solutions to address their complex risks, validating AXA XL's reputation as a market leader.Reports to: Global Chief Underwriting Officer (GCUO) - General LiabilityEssential Responsibilities Include:Support the GCUO with development and review of insurance contract wordings, in conjunction with Legal and Wordings LeadUnderwriting Reviews to identify trends within portfolios that require remediationCo-ordination and collaboration with the network to ensure that action points are addressed within stipulated timeframesEngage with Governance, AXA XL Risk Management and AXA Group Underwriting OfficeCo-ordination of training material and support the overall successful delivery of training strategyDeployment of Global Casualty Product strategy and associated frameworks and controlsIssue Global Product Standards that set overall product risk appetite as well as the strategy for the formation of Rules and Guidelines to drive technical excellenceProvide representation and support to several Business UnitsSupport Energy Transition strategy, analytics, reporting and sustainability initiatives aligned with AXA's 3-year planAssist in portfolio management, reinsurance structures and profitability insightsCascade of Underwriting Authority, as pre-agreed between CUO and BU CUO along with any required ongoing administrationStewardship of Delegated UW arrangementsWe're Looking For Someone Who Has These Abilities and Skills:Proven and established US Casualty underwriting experienceConstruction and Energy background preferredBachelor's degree or equivalent is desirable and experience of global insuranceContinuing education or professional designations in insurance underwriting including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) / Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) are preferred but not requiredAct independently, think in global terms and demonstrate excellent business acumenImpressive Collaborator: Develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholdersCapable of working and collaborating with a virtual team, across multiple diverse geographies and culturesUse judgment to identify and solve day to day problems in straightforward situationsImpressive interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skillsAbility to demonstrate critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skillsAbility to analyze and interpret data appropriately and identify trends in order to direct/engage with others as neededAbility to travel approximately 10% of the time is anticipated on a global basisWho We AreAXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, is known for solving complex risks.
