Psychiatrist | Peak View Behavioral Health | Colorado Springs, Colorado The Psychiatrist is responsible for the medical and psychiatric aspects of admitting and treating patients, ensuring up-to-date treatment plans and effective care. Compensation Range: $300,000 - $340,000 Roles and Responsibilities Provide clinical services to patients at the facility within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations and corporate policy. Review medical information to ensure stability and offer recommendations. Evaluate patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Treat or direct treatment of patients using psychotherapeutic methods and medications. Complete medical information for individual care plans and document services promptly. Maintain confidential documentation, compliance, and billing per policy and procedures. Participate in admissions, cover for staff during vacation or absence, and represent in court related to involuntary commitment. Provide information and insights about patients’ progress to clinicians and other treatment professionals. Serve on call rotation. Qualifications Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) with completed psychiatric residency training. One or more years of post‑graduate practice preferred. Current state license to practice medicine. Board certification or eligibility for board certification in a behavioral health specialty. Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions. Additional DEA credentials may be required per state and facility regulations. CPR and de‑escalation / restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
