In this role, the candidate will work as a full stack developer to enhance and maintain a custom, in-house test automation framework used by internal teams for validating Microchip storage products in a fast-paced, non-stop, automated test environment. The candidate will also assist in maintaining existing infrastructure servers and network hardware and will contribute to the team’s growing AI/ML initiatives by integrating intelligent tooling and observability capabilities into the test infrastructure.Responsibilities:Design and develop frameworks and tools using PHP, Java, SQL, SvelteKit, TypeScript, and bash/shell scriptingDesign, develop, and maintain relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite) to enhance the capabilities of automated testing teamsWork as part of a team to develop, execute, maintain, and document test infrastructure solutions and processesWork with multiple internal QA test teams to support and provide continuous improvement of the automated test environmentMaintain servers and other hardware and software components that provide the infrastructure used by the automated QA test environmentImplement and maintain observability solutions including distributed tracing, metrics collection, log aggregation, and dashboards to improve system visibility and reliabilitySupport AI/ML integration efforts by contributing to tooling, pipelines, and infrastructure that enable intelligent automation within the QA organizationWork within a team to track and provide estimates for tasks by utilizing and following the Agile development methodologyDesign, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs following Swagger/OpenAPI specifications to support test automation and infrastructure toolingDrive innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities for Microchip’s quality assurance organizationRequirements/Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering plus 2.5 years of relevant industry experience4+ years of proven software development and programming experience in web development languages (HTML, CSS, JSON, jQuery, SQL, PHP, Java, TypeScript, NodeJS, and Docker)Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs, including documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI specificationsExperience with relational databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and/or SQLiteFamiliarity with UI/UX design principles and the ability to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for internal tooling and dashboardsExperience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS and/or Azure, including core services such as compute, storage, and networkingGood understanding of object-oriented design and programming best practicesExperience installing and maintaining Linux operating systemsStrong design, analysis, and debug skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Familiar with NFS and Git configuration and administrationExperience with Atlassian tools: Jira for project tracking and Bitbucket for source control and code review workflowsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Jenkins, for build automation and test orchestrationFamiliarity with observability and monitoring tools: OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, and SentryKnowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration and workload managementExperience with log aggregation and visualization (ELK/EFK stack or equivalent)Experience with Python for scripting and automation toolingFamiliarity with AI/ML concepts and the ability to support AI integration within the QA organizationExperience with integrating web-based cloud data and storage solutions (AWS, Azure)US Citizenship/Permanent US ResidencyTravel Time:0% - 25%Physical Attributes:Feeling, Handling, Hearing, Seeing, Talking, Works Around OthersPhysical Requirements:10% Standing, 10% Walking, 80% Sitting, 100% Inside-MF 8-5PMMicrochip Technology Incis an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
