Metz Environmental Services is actively seeking Director of Facilities and EVS with strong background in a Healthcare environment, particularly CCRC
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience overseeing environmental services and plant operations within a Continuing Care Retirement Community. Additionally, they need working knowledge of life safety regulations for both CMS and the Department of Health. The candidate should also have experience reporting to multiple Client Partners simultaneousl y.
This position will be responsible to oversee energy control measures relating to HVAC and lighting throughout the school district utilizing Building Automated Systems. Additional responsibilities will include oversight of HVAC projects and lighting upgrades provided by external providers including assisting the district with RFPs and bid submissions. This position will have direct oversight of the hourly HVAC hourly sta ff.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Director of Facilities and Environmental Services (EVS) to oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of our facility. In this role, you will lead a team responsible for managing building systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining a clean, functional environment that supports our organizational goals. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a solid background in facilities management, industrial maintenance, and environmental services, ready to drive improvements and uphold high standards across all aspects of facility operations.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the facilities management team to ensure all building systems—including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems—are operating efficiently and reliably.
- Oversee maintenance programs utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to schedule, track, and optimize repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
- Manage industrial maintenance tasks involving schematics interpretation, electrical experience—including high voltage and low voltage systems—and the use of tools like ohmmeters for troubleshooting.
- Supervise environmental services operations to maintain cleanliness standards across all areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate projects related to facility upgrades or renovations by planning timelines, managing resources, and collaborating with contractors or vendors.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols related to programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical systems, and industrial equipment to prevent accidents or downtime.
Develop reports on facility performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Skills
- Strong management skills with proven experience supervising teams in facilities or industrial environments.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical wiring—including high voltage and low voltage—mechanical systems, schematics interpretation, and industrial maintenance procedres.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance management and project tracking.
- Excellent leadership abilities combined with effective communication skills in English for clear team coordination.
- Hands-on mechanical knowledge complemented by experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and troubleshooting electrical issues using tools like ohmmeters.
- Project management expertise to oversee upgrades or repairs while maintaining safety standards.
