Safety Assistant

Poly-America, L.P., leading plastics manufacturer, is currently hiring a Safety Assistant to join our team. Poly-America produces several lines of polyethylene products including high quality trash bags, construction films, and agricultural films.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain MSDS database and library
2. Conduct safety equipment inspections
3. Assist with facility safety audits
4. Issue lockout/tagout supplies and maintain appropriate records
5. Maintain facility and equipment safety signage and labeling program
6. Compile and prepare injury trend data
7. Heavy data entry using MS Excel and AS-400
8. Additional duties as become necessary and/or are assigned by management

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of MS Office software and applications
• Experience in an industrial safety department preferred
• Ability to work independently and complete work with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, managers, and other departments.
