If you are looking to use your experience and education to make a meaningful impact, we invite you to apply.Why Nursing at Pyramid Healthcare is UniqueNo assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) – clients are independent (bathing, feeding, grooming, hygiene)No catheters, I/Vs, ports, or midlinesNo blood draws – performed by a contracted national labMinimal physical demands (no heavy lifting, minimal prolonged standing/walking)Fully electronic Medication Administration Records (eMAR) – no paper MARsEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesComplete initial nursing assessments for new admissionsAdminister medications and provide client education on medication use and treatmentMonitor and manage withdrawal protocols using COWS and CIWA scalesCollaborate with and support medical providers during assessments and medication management visitsProvide guidance and direction to LPNs in delivering client care and completing assigned responsibilitiesMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with policy and regulatory standardsMonitor client status and respond appropriately to clinical changes or concernsEnsure compliance with medication administration standards, HIPAA, and licensing regulationsCommunicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to support continuity of careComplete all required trainings and certificationsPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesProvide guidance, direction, and support to LPNs and other nursing staff as applicable, ensuring safe, compliant, and effective care delivery.Required QualificationsLicensure, Education, & ExperienceCurrent, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (State of Pennsylvania required for this role)Current CPR/BLS certification, AED, and First AidExperience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or inpatient setting preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of nursing care standards and medication administration practicesFamiliarity with withdrawal management protocols (COWS and CIWA)Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skillsEffective communication and interpersonal abilitiesAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamStrong documentation and organizational skillsAbility to respond appropriately in emergency or crisis situationsCommitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical carePhysical DemandsThis position involves minimal physical demands compared to traditional nursing roles. Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting may be required. The role does not involve heavy lifting or intensive physical care tasks.Work EnvironmentThis position operates in an inpatient behavioral healthcare setting serving individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Staff may encounter exposure to medications, behavioral health situations, and healthcare environments. PRN staff may be required to work varied shifts based on program needs.CompensationCompensation is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
