Inventory Logistics Manager

Our client, a manufacturer within the aerospace and advanced manufacturing industry, is seeking an Inventory & Logistics Manager to oversee inventory control, warehouse operations, material flow, and shipping/receiving activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will ensure inventory accuracy, support production schedules through efficient material flow, and manage domestic and international logistics operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, expertise in inventory and warehouse management, and a continuous improvement mindset focused on operational efficiency, compliance, and customer support. Key Responsibilities Inventory Management & Accuracy: Maintain high inventory accuracy through cycle counting, physical inventories, variance analysis, and corrective actions while ensuring proper material traceability and ERP/MRP transaction integrity. Warehouse Operations: Oversee receiving, stocking, picking, issuing, staging, and warehouse organization to support efficient production flow and operational scalability. Material Flow Optimization: Ensure timely material movement throughout manufacturing and assembly operations to minimize downtime and production interruptions. Shipping & Logistics Management: Manage domestic and international shipments, freight coordination, shipping documentation, and carrier relationships to ensure on-time and cost-effective deliveries. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures, export regulations, quality standards, OSHA requirements, and company policies. Team Leadership: Lead, train, mentor, and develop warehouse, material handling, and shipping/receiving personnel while fostering accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Process Improvement: Drive Lean, 5S, and operational improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse efficiency, inventory control, and logistics performance. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to support production schedules, inventory traceability, and operational goals. Performance Metrics & Reporting: Develop and monitor KPIs related to inventory accuracy, on-time shipments, picking accuracy, freight costs, and warehouse productivity. Audit & Quality Support: Support internal and external audits related to inventory management, logistics processes, and quality system compliance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. 5+ years of experience in inventory, warehouse, logistics, or materials management within a manufacturing or assembly environment. Experience working within aerospace, aviation, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments preferred. Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, QAD, or similar platforms. Experience managing domestic and international shipping operations, freight carriers, and logistics coordination. Knowledge of inventory control procedures, cycle counting, traceability requirements, and warehouse management systems. Proven leadership experience managing warehouse, logistics, or material handling teams. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AS9100, ISO9001, or similar quality systems. Familiarity with EAR/ITAR export compliance requirements. Lean manufacturing and 5S experience preferred. Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing and warehouse environment. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods as needed.
