Schedule - 4, 10s - Off Fridays Overview A CNC Programmer converts engineering designs into machine-ready G-code and machining strategies. They work closely with machinists, engineers, and quality teams to ensure efficient, accurate, and safe production.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop CNC toolpaths from 2D/3D models using CAM software (Mastercam, NX CAM, Fusion 360, Hypermill).
- Write, edit, and optimize G/M-code for mills, lathes, and 3/4/5-axis machining centers.
- Select cutting tools, holders, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies based on material and tolerance requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering specifications.
- Post-process CAM outputs for specific machine controllers (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain).
- Conduct simulations, dry runs, and first-article prove-outs to verify program accuracy.
- Adjust programs and processes to improve cycle time, tool life, and part quality.
- Perform machine setups, monitor operations, and troubleshoot defects or malfunctions.
- Maintain documentation such as setup sheets, tooling lists, and machining sequences.
- Proficiency with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, Edgecam).
- Strong understanding of machining principles, GD&T, and material behavior.
- Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with CNC controllers (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain).
- Experience with machine setup, tooling selection, and inspection tools.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to optimize machining processes.
- Associate degree in machining/manufacturing technology or vocational certificate.
- 3-8 years of machining or CNC programming experience.
- Certifications: Mastercam Certification, Autodesk Fusion 360 Machining Certification, NIMS CNC Programming.
