Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

$7,500 Sign-On Bonus!

Aberjona Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house rehabilitation team in Winchester, Massachusetts .

We are committed to providing high-quality, person-centered rehabilitation services that help our residents improve mobility, strength, function, and independence. Our interdisciplinary team works collaboratively to provide individualized care in a supportive clinical environment.

Physical Therapy Assistant Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments and interventions under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.

• Implement individualized physical therapy plans of care based on patient needs and established treatment goals.

• Provide therapeutic exercises, mobility training, strengthening activities, balance training, and other interventions within the PTA scope of practice.

• Monitor and document patient responses to treatment and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.

• Measure and document patient progress related to mobility, strength, motor function, balance, and overall physical performance.

• Assist residents with improving functional mobility, transfers, ambulation, and activities of daily living as appropriate.

• Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding treatment activities and safe mobility techniques in collaboration with the Physical Therapist.

• Communicate effectively with the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team regarding resident progress and needs.

• Complete all required clinical documentation accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner.

• Follow facility policies, clinical standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.

• Participate in required meetings, in-services, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.

Physical Therapy Assistant Qualifications

• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF), rehabilitation, long-term care, or healthcare setting is preferred.

• New graduates are welcome to apply.

• Knowledge of physical therapy treatment techniques and rehabilitation practices.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively with residents with varying physical abilities and needs.

• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

• Ability to work collaboratively with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team.

• Familiarity with Net Health or other electronic medical record/documentation systems is preferred.

Physical Therapy Assistant Requirements

• Current and active Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license in Massachusetts .

• License must be in good standing with the applicable licensing board.

• Ability to provide safe, effective, and compassionate resident care.

• Must meet all applicable employment and regulatory requirements.
