Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring at least 1 year of L&D experience and a CO or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 19-room Women's and Infants Labor and Delivery unit
• Rotating day and night shifts (4x12 hours), 7:00-19:00 and 19:00-7:00
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• On-call required per unit needs
• Float required within the Women and Infant unit, and may float within the metro region per facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system
• Navy scrub color required

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
• AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Beginner certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Previous travel experience preferred
• 2 years of overall nursing experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line maintenance, and infusion pump use
• Experience with labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery, C-section circulation, and high-risk delivery assistance
• Experience with fetal monitoring, including external and internal fetal monitoring

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum nursing care
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Perform newborn care procedures including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, and provide discharge teaching to parents
• Completion of all facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods where RTO is not allowed
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are eligible for the local rate
• Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates may be subject to eligibility review
• Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment may not be rebooked for at least one year
