Surgical Tech - Certified Surg Tech

Certified Surg TechAssists the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room. Prepares surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field. Retracts and passes instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during procedures. Performs a variety of technical skills, including the maintenance of supplies. Prepares for each surgical case by accurately checking required supplies and equipment prior to the case. Assembles appropriate supplies and equipment prior to operative procedures. Reviews equipment inventory for specialty as assigned. Sets up operative instrumentation and sterile field for expedient retrieval and utilization. Collects data on assigned surgical cases by the unit based on performance standards of care. Cleans equipment and facilities as necessary. Performs housekeeping duties as requested. Transports patients according to unit schedules and priorities. Provides clerical duties. Completes instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the registered nurse according to established standards. Sets up and maintains a neat and orderly sterile field, demonstrating careful attention to aseptic technique. Labels solutions according to established standards. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Organizational Requirements: Commitment to the safety and well-being of associates and patients. This position includes all functions related to operating room services, including intraoperative patient care. It may also include support functions related to the operating room.
