Database Developer

DeveloperThe Developer creates and develops stories from start to finish that support the completion of features for client products and applications. Their main duties include understanding their part of each feature, creating the stories, developing the stories, testing the stories, documenting the contribution made to the appropriate Confluence pages and deploying to the production environment. The Developer will be an active participant in PI planning, and scrum team. They’ll collaborate closely with their product owner to ensure the features meet specific objectives as outlined by stakeholders and clients. The developer will work with their team to ensure the feature completion is tested and ready for production deployment.Major duties and responsibilities include:ETL development and maintenance experienceSuccessfully complete features in the product backlogKnowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development MethodologyParticipating in Scrum meetings and product sprintsExperience with SQL DevelopmentDevelop database design and architecture documentationExperience with Database migrationsProficiency in the use of analytic toolsAbility to prioritize effectivelyExcellent oral and written communicationAbility to work in a team and on individual tasksUnderstanding of design quality standardsDevelop optimized SQL to address adhoc issuesUtilize SQL and Python for development for automation data integration processesPerform data profiling to insure efficient and accurate delivery of dataWriting testable, scalable and efficient codeMaintaining a working knowledge of the general subject matter being developed from a technical and functional standpointOther duties as requested by supervisorRequired qualifications skills/abilities and knowledge include:Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishProficiency in SQL query development and performanceProficiency in Agile processesProven hands-on experience working in all stages of the product life cycleAbility to stick to timelines and measure progress during developmentWorking knowledge on the operation of SQL, or other ETL toolsExperience in developing in SQL, PythonExperience with data warehouse architectureDemonstrated skills with troubleshooting and resolving technical issuesProven ability and desire to learn and apply current technology to data solutionsGood knowledge of software development and other relevant technologies
