Radiologic Technologist – Multi-Location

Position Summary

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures safely, accurately, and efficiently in accordance with physician orders, established clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. This position will support multiple Las Vegas Pain Institute and Medical Center locations and must be comfortable traveling between assigned facilities based on operational and patient-care needs.

The Radiologic Technologist works closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, medical assistants, and other clinical staff to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining patient safety, privacy, dignity, and comfort.

This position requires flexibility, reliability, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt to different clinical environments, equipment, workflows, and staffing needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Radiologic Imaging

Perform routine diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.

Verify patient identity, examination orders, and clinical indications prior to performing imaging.

Explain procedures to patients in a professional and reassuring manner.

Properly position patients and operate radiographic equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images.

Select appropriate technical factors based on the examination, patient condition, and equipment requirements.

Evaluate images for positioning, exposure, and diagnostic quality before completing the examination.

Repeat images when necessary to obtain adequate diagnostic quality while minimizing unnecessary radiation exposure.

Assist patients with positioning and transfers while maintaining appropriate safety precautions.

Perform imaging procedures for patients with varying levels of mobility and physical limitations.

Follow established protocols for examinations requiring special positioning or additional views.

Maintain accurate documentation of examinations performed.

Radiation Safety

Follow all applicable radiation safety principles and ALARA practices.

Use appropriate shielding and radiation protection measures when indicated.

Minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and visitors.

Follow facility procedures regarding radiation safety, equipment operation, and restricted areas.

Report equipment malfunctions, radiation safety concerns, or other hazards immediately.

Maintain required radiation safety credentials, licenses, registrations, and continuing education.

Patient Care

Provide respectful, compassionate, and professional care to every patient.

Confirm patient identity using appropriate identifiers before each examination.

Screen patients for relevant conditions or circumstances that may affect the examination.

Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Assist patients safely with transfers, positioning, and ambulation when necessary.

Recognize changes in a patient's condition and promptly notify the appropriate clinical staff.

Maintain appropriate infection prevention and control practices before, during, and after examinations.

Follow standard precautions and facility-specific infection prevention procedures.

Multi-Location Responsibilities

Travel between assigned company locations as needed to meet patient-care and operational requirements.

Maintain reliable transportation and the ability to report to different assigned locations within the required timeframe.

Adapt to different locations, workflows, patient volumes, staffing models, and equipment.

Maintain consistent professional and clinical standards regardless of assigned location.

Communicate effectively with managers and clinical teams regarding schedule changes, location assignments, and operational needs.

Assist other locations during staffing shortages, increased patient volume, vacations, or other operational needs.

Maintain readiness to work independently at different facilities while following each location's established policies and procedures.

Transport or handle imaging-related supplies and equipment between locations when assigned and appropriate.

Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude when transitioning between locations.

Equipment and Technical Responsibilities

Operate radiographic equipment safely and appropriately.

Perform routine equipment checks before use.

Identify and report equipment problems or malfunctions.

Follow manufacturer instructions and facility procedures for equipment operation.

Maintain a clean and organized imaging area.

Ensure imaging supplies are appropriately stocked and available.

Participate in required equipment quality assurance and quality control activities.

Follow established procedures for equipment cleaning and disinfection.

Assist with maintaining imaging equipment and work areas in accordance with applicable regulatory and manufacturer requirements.

Documentation and Compliance

Accurately document all imaging procedures and required patient information.

Maintain complete and timely records in the applicable electronic medical record or imaging system.

Follow HIPAA and organizational confidentiality requirements.

Comply with federal, state, local, professional, and organizational requirements applicable to radiologic services.

Follow all facility policies and procedures.

Participate in required staff meetings, education, competency assessments, and training.

Complete required continuing education and maintain professional credentials.

Report patient safety events, incidents, equipment concerns, or other unusual occurrences according to organizational policy.

Teamwork and Communication

Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, front-office personnel, and other members of the healthcare team.

Coordinate with clinical staff to maintain efficient patient flow.

Provide timely communication regarding completed examinations, patient concerns, or technical issues.

Demonstrate professionalism and respect when interacting with patients, families, coworkers, providers, and visitors.

Assist with maintaining an efficient and organized clinical environment.

Support organizational quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Current ARRT certification/registration in Radiography, as applicable to the position.

Current Nevada radiologic technologist license/registration, as required.

Current CPR/BLS certification.

Ability to safely operate diagnostic radiographic equipment.

Ability to perform required patient positioning and physical duties.

Ability and willingness to travel between multiple company locations.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Preferred

Previous experience in an outpatient medical, orthopedic, pain management, urgent care, or ambulatory surgery environment.

Experience working in a multi-location healthcare organization.

Experience with electronic medical records and PACS/RIS systems.

Experience with high-volume outpatient radiology services.

Physical Requirements

The position requires the ability to:

Stand and walk for extended periods.

Frequently bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and reposition patients.

Assist with patient transfers and positioning.

Push, pull, and maneuver imaging equipment as required.

Lift and/or move equipment or supplies within the scope of the position.

Maintain appropriate body mechanics and follow safe patient-handling practices.

Work in a clinical environment with exposure to bodily fluids, infectious materials, and other occupational hazards.

Travel between multiple work locations during the workweek.

Work Environment

The Radiologic Technologist may work at multiple medical locations operated by the organization. The employee must be flexible regarding location assignments and understand that the primary work location may change based on patient volume, staffing, scheduling, and operational needs.

The position may require travel between locations during the same workweek and, when operationally necessary, during the same workday.
