Lead Radiation TherapistComprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Radiation Therapist in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, you will work with some of the best physicians in their fields while providing care to patients in a successful health care organization.The essential functions for the Lead Radiation Therapist include the following:Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training designated employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and rewarding and disciplining employees.Serves as mentor to employees in radiation oncology department.Responsible for the instruction of newly hired radiation staff and radiation therapy students on all equipment applicable.Maintains patient appointment schedule and submits correct billing information.Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist.May assist in chart audits and QA procedures.May participate in development of QA procedures.Accurately interprets a computerized treatment plan.Accurately cuts blocks and makes custom molds.Accurately enters and maintains patient treatment parameters into the electronic medical record.Accurately completes simple mu calculation.May review and amend patient billing for accuracy.The ideal candidate will have the following minimum background and experience:Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program.Minimum five years actively practicing as an RTT.ARRT certification required.Valid state license for radiation therapy required.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to stand for 8 hours; lift 40 pound block to shoulder level; have sufficient visual acuity to distinguish structures and isodose displays on computer monitor. Additionally, must be able to align treatment field and monitor patient during radiation therapy treatment; have adequate hearing and speaking capabilities to effectively communicate with patients and staff; have adequate mobility to assist patients on and off treatment couch and document treatment.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
