Litigation Paralegal

This role will work out of our New York City office in the Environmental Unit assisting attorneys with litigation and trial preparations. Our ideal candidate will have a background in civil litigation, robust organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This role is critical to the success of our team and offers an opportunity to work on meaningful – and often high-profile – cases. Responsibilities and Duties Support trial preparation, including coordinating witness testimony, preparing trial exhibits, and organizing exhibit lists and witness lists. Review and analyze cases to assist in trial preparation. Actively monitor client-related mailboxes, case notifications, and calendars; work with attorneys to meet deadlines. Conduct factual and legal research to gather case information, relevant documents, deposition transcripts, court opinions, expert reports, and other related information. Analyze and research statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources, and provide written analysis to attorneys. Interview clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements and opinions. Prepare detailed summaries of depositions, trial testimony, medical records, and other discovery materials. Coordinate with clients to gather relevant discovery (including medical authorizations and records) and prepare discovery materials for production. Draft correspondence, including to clients, courts, and opposing counsel. Establish, organize, and maintain attorney trial and case files, expert witness materials, document indices, and lists. Communicate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, clients, witnesses, and experts regarding assigned cases or projects. Coordinate the execution and maintenance of estate matters and documents. Opportunity to travel to assist attorneys with out-of-state trials. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree is required. 1+ years of paralegal experience is preferred. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Proficient in legal terminology, learning and using legal software, project management tools, and Microsoft Suite. Proficiency in legal terminology and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters is a plus. Effective interpersonal skills, including communicating in person, by e‑mail and by telephone. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment. Ability to sit at a desk and work with documents and/or a computer for extended period. Ability to proofread material for contextual, grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors. Occasional travel may be required. The annualized salary range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000, The referenced salary range is based on the Firm's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
