Certified Nursing Assistant - Float Pool

Job Description

Shifts Available:

• 0.9 FTE, 12 hr days (6:30a - 7:00p)
• 0.9 FTE, 12 hr mid-shift (10:00a - 22:30p)
• 0.15 FTE, 6 hr swing-shift (4:30p - 23:00p)

This position provides direct patient care and clinical support under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Performs delegated tasks within the scope of practice, maintains accurate and timely documentation, and collaborates with the healthcare team to support quality patient outcomes. The successful candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering care aligned with organizational values.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Previous hospital/long term care experience, including the use of medical terminology, preferred. This position requires a person who exhibits a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, the ability to work productively under stress, and who displays a professional demeanor and is able to prioritize workloads. The employee in this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide a safe environment and therapeutic milieu based on the age of the patients served. The employee must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possess the ability to communicate observed changes in patient's behavior/activity to the RN. This job description will change from time to time as tasks, organization, and technology changes.


EDUCATION: High school graduate, HiSET or GED equivalent preferred. Successful completion of a CNA program required. This position description may qualify for a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay. The conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Current certification as a nursing assistant required or enrollment in the SPH CNA training program and must obtain certification at the end of the training period. Current and valid BLS certification required. SECURE Training required within 6 months of hire date, then annually updated.
