Description:

The Classified Substitute provides temporary support for support staff at Rocky Mountain Classical Academy, a K–8 public charter school. The substitute fills in for absent employees in a variety of support roles, including but not limited to instructional support, front office, food service, and other classified positions as assigned. The Classified Substitute contributes to a safe, orderly, and welcoming learning environment while supporting the school's mission, classical education model, and high standards for student achievement and character. 

Compensation and Benefits  

• Part-time (as needed), Non-exempt
• $160.00 - Full Day; $80.00 - Half Day
• Not eligible for benefits

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working in a school or with children is preferred.
• Successful completion of all required background checks and employment requirements.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, families, and the public in a courteous and professional manner.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student and employee information in accordance with applicable laws and school policies.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and flexibility to accept assignments as needed.
• Basic computer proficiency appropriate to assigned duties.
• Ability to adapt quickly to varying assignments, work locations, and schedules.
• Ability to uphold the mission, vision, and core values of Rocky Mountain Classical Academy.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Report to assigned work location on time and prepared to perform assigned duties.
• Carry out the responsibilities of the regular classified employee in accordance with school policies and supervisor direction.
• Provide courteous, professional, and respectful service to students, families, staff, and visitors.
• Support a positive school culture by modeling professionalism, integrity, and respect.
• Maintain appropriate supervision of students and promote a safe, orderly learning environment.
• Follow established school procedures regarding student safety, emergency drills, health protocols, and security practices.
• Maintain confidentiality of all student and personnel information.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
• Use school equipment, technology, and materials responsibly.
• Communicate effectively with administrators and staff regarding assignment expectations and completion of duties.
• Follow all Rocky Mountain Classical Academy policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature of the substitute assignment.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• School setting with frequent interaction with students and staff
• Frequent standing, walking, and active engagement with students
• Occasional lifting and handling of instructional materials
• Participation in school events, meetings, and professional development sessions
