Registered Nurse – First Assist – Operating RoomPer DiemCome work at the best place to give and receive care!SNHMC has nine operating room suites, 25 pre-op/PACU bays, and a sterile processing department. Hours are flexible, with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour day shifts available. The OR has a dedicated call team Sunday through Thursday nights beginning at 7PM, making OR call minimal. Services range from elective and non-elective procedures, including neurological, orthopedic, gynecological, urological, bariatric, colorectal, vascular, ENT, general, breast, and plastics. Surgical services are growing and evolving, utilizing the latest technology for the wide variety of procedures we perform. The OR also offers Periop-101 and advancements.About the Job:As a member of the Surgical Services team, the RN First Assist (RNFA) is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality, patient-family centered care in the OR and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations. The incumbent will function as a RN First Assistant during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum in accordance with scope of practice credentials, privileges, experience, education, and competency verification. This role assists the surgical team with the verification process and basic intra-operative procedures and case closure protocol.In addition to the basic RN responsibilities, the RN, FA, will perform advanced tasks including suctioning and irrigation, patient positioning, placing clamps and sutures, cauterizing wounds and vessels and closing wounds.
