Job Opportunity – Physician Assistant – Cardiothoracic Surgery – Connecticut

Start Date: Mid to late July (as soon as credentialed)

Location: Connecticut

Compensation: Competitive tiered hourly rates; details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts with potential call coverage and 24-hour shifts. Inpatient only setting with an average daily patient volume of 10. Weekend and on-call responsibilities as assigned.

• Inpatient cardiothoracic surgery team supporting two hospital locations
• EMR system: EPIC (experience preferred)
• Level 1 Trauma Center with diverse patient demographics including adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
• Autonomous provider role with comprehensive clinical responsibilities including pre-op exams, surgical assistance, rounding, and post-operative care
• Opportunities to perform advanced procedures such as placement of central venous and dialysis catheters, arterial lines, and endoscopic retrieval

Requirements:

• Active Connecticut Physician Assistant license (required at time of submission)
• Board Certified by NCCPA
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (new graduates not eligible)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency in required duties including diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, writing prescriptions, and care coordination
• Competency in placement of central venous catheters, dialysis catheters, arterial lines, and endoscopic retrieval (note: intra-aortic balloon pump placement not required)
• Local candidates or those willing to relocate; must be able to work at both facility locations (approximately 35 miles apart)
• EPIC experience strongly preferred
