Mooresville Christian Academy is a thriving, growing Christian school dedicated to academic excellence and spiritual growth.

We are seeking a dependable and enthusiastic education professional to support a 4th grade classroom in creating a positive and engaging learning environment. The selected individual must also have values that align with the school mission. This role works closely with the classroom teacher to help students stay focused, reinforce instruction, and contribute to a safe and supportive classroom experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional activities and classroom routines.
• Provide individual and small-group support to help students understand lesson concepts.
• Help prepare instructional materials, learning activities, and classroom resources.
• Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and maintaining an orderly environment.
• Monitor students during class, transitions, recess, lunch, arrival, and dismissal as needed.
• Reinforce teacher directions and assist students with completing assignments.
• Observe student progress and share relevant feedback with the classroom teacher.
• Support students with varying learning needs while promoting independence and confidence.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space.
• Perform related duties as assigned to support student success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or coursework in education is a plus.
• Prior experience working with children in a school, child care, tutoring, or enrichment setting preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, teachers, and families.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Patience, reliability, and a supportive, student-centered approach.
• Ability to follow direction, work collaboratively, and adapt to changing classroom needs.
• Basic understanding of child development and elementary classroom support strategies.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting literacy, math, or other elementary academic activities.
• Familiarity with positive behavior support techniques.
• Ability to assist students with diverse learning styles and needs.
• Comfort using basic classroom technology and instructional tools.

Work Environment
