Requirements

• Active Illinois RN License
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• ASN required
• Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience
• Endoscopy experience preferred
• Experience with patient assessment, moderate sedation, and procedural nursing care

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide care for patients undergoing endoscopy procedures, including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies. The RN will rotate through pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and recovery phases while collaborating with physicians, CRNAs, and multidisciplinary staff to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and review health histories
• Prepare patients for endoscopy procedures
• Start IVs and provide patient education
• Administer and monitor moderate sedation under physician supervision
• Monitor patients during procedures and recovery phases
• Provide Phase I and Phase II recovery care
• Assist CRNAs during procedures requiring anesthesia support
• Develop, implement, and modify individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to departmental protocols
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes
