Job Description
Goshen Secure Center (GSC) is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide comprehensive nursing care and clinical support within a juvenile correctional healthcare environment. The selected candidates will deliver nursing interventions, medication administration, health monitoring, and treatment support services consistent with established nursing practices, regulatory requirements, and individualized treatment plans for youth in custody.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment environment focused on the safety, health, and well-being of juvenile residents.

Facility Overview

Goshen Secure Center is located in Orange County, New York, approximately 50 miles northwest of New York City. The facility serves male juvenile offenders and is accredited by the American Correctional Association. Youth may remain in Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) custody until the age of 21 depending on sentencing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Nursing & Patient Care
• Provide nursing interventions and medication administration in accordance with established nursing protocols and treatment plans.
• Assess, review, monitor, and evaluate the health status and clinical needs of youth residents.
• Develop and support nursing intervention plans aligned with comprehensive treatment and behavioral health objectives.
• Administer medications and monitor resident responses to treatment.
• Maintain infection prevention and control standards within the facility.

Medication & Inventory Management
• Maintain and monitor medical inventory, including controlled substances and medication supplies.
• Ensure accurate medication storage, administration, and documentation practices.
• Support compliance with healthcare regulations and correctional healthcare standards.

Documentation & Reporting
• Prepare and maintain clinical, treatment, and administrative reports as required.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, medication administration, and resident care activities accurately and timely.
• Participate in treatment team discussions and communicate resident care updates appropriately.

Team Collaboration & Training
• Serve as an active member of the facility's multidisciplinary medical treatment team.
• Participate in required staff meetings, clinical training sessions, and professional development activities.
• Collaborate with facility personnel to support safe and effective resident care delivery.

Required Qualifications
• Active and unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Experience providing nursing care in correctional, behavioral health, psychiatric, long-term care, acute care, or similar healthcare environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medication administration, infection control, and patient assessment practices.
• Ability to work effectively within a secure treatment environment and multidisciplinary care team.
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
