Position: Temporary Paralegal (Contracts & Royalties)
Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid – blend of remote and in-office)
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Industry: Publishing

In this role, you will be the bridge between our legal agreements and financial executions. Your primary mission is to analyze contract terms to ensure accurate royalty compliance.

• Contract Analysis & Review: Examine legal contracts to identify, verify, and confirm specific royalty payment terms and rights.
• Data Auditing: Review and audit individual titles and line items utilizing a master tracking system in Microsoft Excel.
• Problem Solving & Investigation: Interpret complex "reasons for review," investigate missing data, and execute the required legal or administrative action for outstanding tasks.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Front Office, Contracts Department, and Royalty Department to ensure seamless communication and follow-through.
• Record Management: Maintain meticulous records of your legal findings and actions taken for audit-ready documentation.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certification is highly preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience in contract review with royalties, publishing rights, or intellectual property (IP)
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (ability to navigate large data sets, filter, and track statuses).
• Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating across multiple corporate departments.
