Job Title: Warehouse Operator 2 - Shipping

Department: Warehouse, 1st Shift

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

Performs wide range of duties concerning shipping and packing under the general direction of the Warehouse Manager, coupled with following/achieving production, quality and performance standards, while exceeding our customer’s expectations with quality service in a timely manner.

Essential Job Functions

· Receives and verifies finished goods, purchased materials, raw materials, returned goods and in-process materials into designated locations and performs all necessary computer transactions related to this process, while maintaining a near 100% degree of accuracy

· Performs shipments; follows order priority of regular, rush, contract, and warehouse order requirements

· Picks, preserves, product for customer order requirements

· Performs all outbound shipments while maintaining a near 100% level of quality and accuracy

· Completes shipment labeling, banding or shrink wrapping, shipment weighing, bills of lading, UPS labeling manifesting and any other requirement necessary to complete a shipment properly

· Follows established inventory record keeping procedures to maintain a near 100% degree of inventory accuracy. Verbally informs the Warehouse Manager immediately of all inventory errors

· Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of equipment and materials such as forklifts, pallet jack, etc. adhere to all safety rules, procedures and safe practices. Responsible for the reporting of any unsafe practices and conditions to a member of management

· Performs material handling and utility functions

· Continuously strives for excellent customer service and is involved in the customer complaint corrective action when needed

· Contact and schedules carrier pick up for all outbound shipments

· Maintains inventory lot and FIFO control

· Creates sales orders, emergency orders, invoices, sends ASN’s as prescribed in customer work instructions

· Utilizes Warehouse Management System to capabilities to achieve near 100% inventory/order accuracy

· Works closely with management and fellow employees to keep an “open line” of communications to achieve “team concept” goals of our organization

· Responsible for maintaining and following TS 16949 & ISO 9001 quality standards and standard operating procedures

· Maintains and protects all company assets under their control while fostering loss prevention awareness

Additional Job Functions

· Able and willing to work all shifts and hours as assigned, with some overtime required

· Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, safe and orderly condition

· Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations

· Performs other related duties as required or as directed

· High school diploma or GED, plus minimum 2 years of warehouse, shipping/receiving experience

· Possess strong problem solving skills, analytical ability and good judgment in dealing with completing priorities, limited resources and time pressure

· Ability to work independently with some direction. Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments

· Superior organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail

· Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures

· Able to operate a fork lift

· Team player who works productively with wide range of people

· Strong project management and multi-tasking skills

· Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to lift 10-50lbs on a regular basis

· Must have basic reading, writing, language and math skills

Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of maintenance equipment and tools. Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able to use body members to work, move, or carry objects or materials. Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to twenty pounds frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for physically active work. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of ten to fifty pounds.
