Quality Assurance Coordinator

Responsibilities Perform complex program reviews and analysis to support contract compliance and program performance, adhering to chart and program documentation requirements, program reporting, and preparation for agency audits. Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, contractual and agency requirements and standards. Analyze and evaluate charts, summarize findings with supervisors, managers, and leadership. Act as primary liaison with the Department of Mental Health’s Standards and Records Department and internal managers for documentation issues. Identify clinical staff in need of chart documentation training; develop training material and conduct training for managers, supervisors, and staff. Prepare for audits using the Electronic Health Record System (EHRS) and claiming system at an expert level; collaborate with VP’s, Director of Compliance, Clinical Program Managers, Supervisors, Health Information Management (HIM), Custodian of Records, and leadership for audit purposes. Analyze and evaluate documentation for accuracy of clinical content and procedure billing codes for DMH Contracts. Develop and implement tracking forms and systems to audit chart documentation to federal and county regulations; recommend methods to streamline procedures and improve efficiency. Lead audits; maintain expert knowledge of program standards and policies as developed by agency, licensing and governing bodies. Develop personal and professional knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, networking, benchmarking best practices, and in-service programs. Other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications 3 years of County and State standards to chart documentation experience. Master’s degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family counseling; registration or license required. Valid driver’s license and state-required auto insurance or reliable transportation. Required to travel extensively (> 50% of the time). Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle confidential information, maintaining patient privacy and PHI confidentiality. Participate in and sustain performance quality improvement activities. Sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; punctual and dependable attendance. Free from alcohol and drug abuse. Certificates/Registrations: MFT Associate Registration, MFT License, LCSW License, ASW Registration, Register and Waivered with Board of Psychologists. Advanced computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Electronic Health Records System. Compensation and Benefits Compensation: $73,601.00–$85,469.00 USD (based on California law).
