Assistant Professor (Summa/Akron City - Geriatrics )

Summary This full‑time, shared faculty position will be co‑funded by Summa Health System, Akron City Hospital and NEOMED. The faculty will spend 80% of their time at the hospital, focusing on establishing a viable Geriatrics practice and precepting pharmacy students (12 student months/year). Campus activities include workshop/lab facilitation, lecturing, admission interviews, committee service and student advising. Scholarship is an expected activity for all faculty in the College of Pharmacy, and faculty will participate in structured on‑campus faculty development programs. Position Details Position Type: Faculty Department: Pharmacy Practice Full or Part Time: Full Time Pay Grade: 2 Principal Functional Responsibilities Teaching: Campus‑based education including small/large group teaching, student applicant interviews, assessments/evaluations, and student advising. Scholarship: Participate in producing scholarly work such as clinical/or outcomes research, review articles, book chapters, case reports, and presentations at local, regional, and national meetings. Service: Participation on departmental, College, and University committees; active involvement in local, state, and national professional organizations. Participation in structured on‑campus faculty development programs. Qualifications Pharm.D. Completion of a PGY1 residency or equivalent experience. Eligible for licensure in Ohio. Preferred Qualifications PGY2 training in Geriatrics is preferred. Physical Requirements Must be able to utilize a phone, computer, screen, and other office equipment.
